After building my own miniature tower clock, I wanted to measure how accurate it really is—so I built a DIY pendulum timer from scratch!

This project uses an ESP32, a GPS module for atomic time sync, and environmental sensors to analyse the beat interval of the pendulum with microsecond precision. It’s inspired by commercial systems like the MicroSet and eTimer, but fully custom and extensible.

In this video, I show how it works, how I built it, and what it reveals about my clock’s performance.
